We found from a recent survey on Nextdoor that while many might assume that people only celebrate the holidays with loved ones, 45% of neighbors reported that they celebrate the holidays in some way with their neighbors. We couldn’t be more excited, because the Holiday Cheer Map is helping neighborhoods across the country do just that!

Designed specifically to help neighbors discover festivities in their communities, the Holiday Cheer Map allows Nextdoor members everywhere to easily discover the best holiday spots to celebrate the season – from wonderful light displays, to cherished local charities, to affordable tree lots. The Holiday Cheer Map is the only way to find local holiday favorites recommended by the people who know the area best: your neighbors.

Nextdoor members can add their favorite festive spots to the Holiday Cheer Map to share with neighbors:

• Lights and displays
• Places to give back
• Activities and events
• Tree lots
• Santa sightings

Follow these simple steps to add your favorite holiday festivities to the Holiday Cheer Map:

1. Sign in to your account. If you are not yet a member, you can sign up and verify your address to access the Holiday Cheer Map.
2. Once signed in, click the neighborhood map in the upper right corner. Hit “Add new spot” and search for the address of the location you would like to add to the map and select the category. Members can include a description of the spot and even a photo. Or, visit nextdoor.com/cheer.
3. Share the map on other social media websites and encourage your neighbors and friends to participate so you’ll know exactly where the holiday cheer is in both your neighborhood and city.
